You are never too small to make a big difference. ECF has many young supporters and volunteers, including the creative kids below who show us that good in the world comes in all sizes. Their lemonade stand efforts collectively raised $1,500 that will go directly to helping families facing pediatric cancer. Thank you kids, and to all who enjoyed their lemonade!
Ben, Gabby and Noah
Upon learning of the shortage in our Northern Region food pantry due to COVID restrictions, ECF Caseworker Caitlin turned to her kids for ideas. She didn’t have to wait long before 9 year old Ben, 7 year old Gabby and 4 year old Noah came up with an amazing solution, a combination Lemonade Stand/Food Drive! It turned out to be a great community effort collecting more than 60 bags of groceries and raising over $1,100 in donations to buy additional food and gift cards for local families! Caitlin’s kids were so excited about their results. “They couldn’t believe the amount of money they raised,” said the proud mom. Ben, Gabby and Noah also helped their mom deliver some of the groceries to the families (safely, wearing masks and social distancing). “It made me happy to do something so helpful for charity,” said Gabby. “I liked giving out lemonade,” Noah added.
Grace and Katie
“These girls crushed it today. Grace has been asking to have a lemonade stand for weeks. Both girls recognized that the pandemic has created a shortage of fundraisers and support for organizations who assist those who need help the most. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS will be donated to the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation! Great job, Grace and Katie! I really encourage everyone to think about how they can show their support during these times. ~ Codi, Grace’s mom
